Dirty 30 in Lagos.

We left Lisbon a day early, driving in the direction of Lagos with plans to stay at a campsite in Sines and spend a little time at the beach.

The campsite was completely empty and looked like a prison.

However, the beach was pretty so we ate our vegemite sandwiches and went for a swim. The water was so clear and warm as long as you stayed under; the wind was freezing.

To the right of the beach was a power plant. (truly picturesque) who knows what we were really swimming in?

Without a campsite we kept driving to our hostel in Lagos with hope they had room for us. They didn’t. However the lady organised a guesthouse for us instead.

It was like staying at grandmas house!

She had a dog named Nina

And a cat named Garfield.

Lagos is a beautiful cobble stoned city, packed with tourists, entertainment and beaches. 5 days spent in Lagos was a holiday within a holiday. I have left with a tan (on the front half of my body, the back is still white?) and smooth feet. The sand was great for exfoliation.

Each beach in Lagos is divided by rocks and grottos to either relax, explore or pretend you are posing for a bikini photo shoot. (I’m serious, I wish I could have photographed people being photographed) Lachie and I chose to explore. Our method of transport was a Kayak. It was all fun and games until Lachlan caused us to capsize.

I didn't realise that I talk so much about food so ill keep it to a minimum. It was delicious. I finally found a good pizza! Made in a wood fired oven and just the right amount of topping. My favourite was ham, cheese, tomato, spinache and egg.

Look at the view from our 'hostel'. Jealous??

I heart Casa Rosa!

Casa Rosa is a cheap place to eat and drink, meet other travelers (communal dining) and check your face book. 8 euros gets you "the hour of power". A massive almost home cooked meal and as much beer or wine as you can drink in an hour. Within minutes the quiet night out before Lachie’s birthday turned into the massive celebration.

Liv and Lach’s Lagos Pub crawl.

Buying Lachie his first drink as a 30 year old, a Pina Colada!

With every drink came a free shot in most places. (We went to a few) We played darts, (I won) drank more pina coladas, more shots. At dinner everyone said they were going to Monkey Bar, so we did too. It was insane. Obviously Lagos hasn't heard of RSA! Not that I am complaining.

I remember

1. Chicks dancing all over the bar.

2. The roof was too low for the chicks so they were hunch back bar dancing.

3. Ordering drinks through dancing chick’s legs.

4. Every shot we had the guys working the bar lined one up for themselves.

5. Jager bombs, rum and coke, vodka, black sambuca. (not by choice I feel like vomiting just thinking about it.)

6.Being lost for about 2 hours trying to find our hostel.

The only photo I took that night?

There were so many Aussies in Lagos.

Some dude: ”where are you from?”

Me: “Australia”

Some dude: “Ofcourse you are!”

Australian back backers are taking over the world. (along side Mcdonalds) We are everywhere.

I did meet one guy who claims to know “of” you both. (g-or-gina and Poopie) He plays basketball.

I woke up the next morning only to find that I broke my bendel. (headband) I don’t know when, where or how. All I know is the two stones were in pieces in my pocket and the band was nowhere to be seen ever again. (Pretty sad about this)

I'm Such a party animal. lol

They sell Sangria in a bottle as if it were coke, in the supermarket for only 2 Euros!
