Aqua Duck: Yes, Quack Quack!

One more pint of Sangria and I was ready to leave Barcelona. Hoping some punk on a bike wouldn’t slash our tires, offer to help and then the next thing we know all our bags are gone! (I read way too many Barcelona horror stories online)

We arrived safe and sound back in France ready for a fun filled month of camping! (Whoop!) Unfortunately arriving late in Aimes meant the supermarket was closed. (the story of our lives) All we had in the car was a packet of 2minute noodles and a tin of baked beans. (This screams adventure) I shot gunned the noodles. A hearty dinner was eaten by all in preparation for a visit to the Roman aqueduct and its stonework.

The Pont Du Gard is the major stone work of a 50 km aqueduct that runs between Uzes and Nimes in the South of France.

Constructed by the Roman Empire in the middle of the first century A.D

Designed to carry water across the small Gardon river valley.

You can still see graffiti left by builders throughout the ages as well as details carved regarding instructions used for construction.
